Entegrity Issues Security Update to Entegrity DCE/DFS for
Tru64 UNIX
NASHUA, NH - August 24, 2005
- Entegrity Solutions® Corporation, a leader in Application
Security software and DCE/DFS technologies, announced today
that it has issued a security update for Entegrity DCE/DFS
on HP Tru64 UNIX.
According to CIAC Bulletin p-249, vulnerabilities were discovered
in the MIT krb5 Key Distribution Center (KDC). These vulnerabilities
were described in MIT krb5 Security Advisories SA-2005-002
and SA-2005-003. In response, Entegrity has issued a
patch to Entegrity DCE/DFS for Tru64 UNIX.
In October, 2002, Entegrity Solutions announced that it had
signed an agreement with HP that expanded the longstanding
relationship between the two companies. Under this agreement,
HP worldwide customers could now purchase product updates
and support directly from Entegrity for the DCE and DFS for
Tru64 UNIX and SC AlphaServer product lines.
Since that announcement, Entegrity has taken over the maintenance
and support for DCE and DFS for the Tru64 operating system,
showing their commitment to the product line. In addition
to the recent security update, Entegrity has issued the following
product releases:
- For Tru64 v5.1B, three releases: Entegrity v4.3, 4.3.1,
and 4.3.2
and additional security patches.
- For Tru64 v5.1A, four releases: Entegrity v4.2, 4.2.1,
4.2.2, and 4.2.3,
and additional security patches
- For the older Tru64 v5.1 operating system, seven releases:
Entegrity v4.1, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.3, 4.1.4, 4.1.5, and 4.1.6.
Customers with valid support contracts receive these upgrades
free of charge for the products covered by the support contracts,
highlighting the value of an Entegrity
Service Plan. Though the DCE product line is a mature
product based on an also-mature standard, occasionally new
security vulnerabilities in the underlying standard surface.
Entegrity updates to DCE/DFS for Tru64 UNIX products address
these security issues.
HP has phased out Compaq part numbers that are specific to
DCE/DFS for Tru64 UNIX products, and support contracts. DCE
and DFS products for Tru64 UNIX are no longer orderable from
HP. HP customers and others who wish to purchase updates of
DCE and DFS for their Tru64 UNIX or SC AlphaServer systems,
